Section 1
Halaqa is a free educational utility app provided by Youssef Abdelsalam. It is designed for Quran schools, masjids, and hifz programs to manage halaqa operations inside self-managed workspaces. This privacy policy explains what information is processed through the app and how it is handled.
Section 2
The app processes the information needed to provide its core functions. This may include names, user roles, workspace and group assignments, session records, attendance, excuses, memorization and revision records, grades, announcements, and related notes entered by authorized users. Parent, teacher, and administrator accounts may include an email address for sign-in. Student accounts use student credentials such as student code and PIN rather than email login. The app also uses Firebase Crashlytics, which may process crash reports, stack traces, app state at the time of a crash, device metadata, and a Crashlytics installation identifier.
Section 3
Information is used only to operate the app, including sign-in, workspace administration, session planning, attendance, Quran progress tracking, parent follow-up, notifications, and technical support for app reliability. Halaqa does not use personal data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
Section 4
Organizations and workspace administrators create and manage their own workspaces in Halaqa. They decide what user and student information is entered into the app and how that information is used within their halaqa operations. They are responsible for using that information lawfully and with appropriate permissions.
Section 5
Application data is stored using Firebase services. Firebase Authentication is used for account sign-in and credential handling, Firebase Security Rules are used to restrict access, and Firebase Crashlytics is used for crash reporting and stability monitoring. Halaqa does not intend to store raw passwords in the application database.
Section 7
Halaqa may process limited student information because it is designed for educational Quran programs. Student profiles are intended to use only limited identifying information, such as first name and last name, together with halaqa-related records. Student records are intended to be created and managed by authorized organizations, teachers, and parents or guardians within the workspace.
Section 8
